Nothing Else Matters

Yesterday I saw Metallica live! It was in Oslo, the capital of Norway, and it was so awesome. They were really, really good. The stage was set up in a way I've never seen before, where they had the stage in the middle of the arena. People were standing on all sides of the stage, and then behind there again people were sitting. I was standing there on one side, almost on the front row! Most of the time I only had one guy in front of me, so I was really close and I saw a lot. It was really cool.

They had a pretty good show and they played many good songs. They played most of my favorites from the new CD, but I kind of wished they had played some of the old, good stuff too. (I still haven't heard Fade To Black live, que triste..) But they played both The Day That Never Comes and All Nightmare Long, which made me happy. I think The Day That Never Comes and Seek And Destroy were my highlights of the night. I love hearing the songs I know how to play on the guitar live. I respect those guys so much, they can play the guitar SO well! I'm kind of sad that I'm at home now without a guitar, so I can't play. But that's okay.

Oh, and if someone can't see what's in the pictures, it's first the ticket for the show, and then a pick. At the end of the show, they threw out the rest of the picks they didn't use, and I got one! It's a bass pick, as you can see, and I don't play bass, but it was still really cool. Kirk Hammet stood there throwing them, and I got it thanks to my friend Halvor that I went there with and this other awesome guy who stood and kept all the other people away while I bent down to pick it up from the ground.. So now I have a Jimmy Eat World pick from their show last spring, and a Metallica pick from the show yesterday, both bass picks! :P

And now I have guitar hero on my cabin, which is also awesome. My sister bought GH Metallica for me the other day, so tuesday (at like one in the morning when they came to our cabin with it) and wednesday morning I played it a lot. Fun!

So now I'm at home only for a couple of days, before I go to The Hove Festival. I will work there for two days and go to shows for two days. It will be awesome, I hope. (and think.. So many good bands :D) For the rest of the summer I don't really have many plans, but I'm going to work for a while and then in august I will have some vacation. It will be good :)

Videos for you guys, from the concert yesterday :) I officially love youtube! (Don't know if anyone's interested, but I was sitting here watching them anyways, so I thought I might just as well link them 8D)

Kirk's solo and the start of Nothing Else Matters. (I was standing to the right of where Kirk sits down at 2:00!)

Pyro show and the start of One. This was so awesome, I could feel the heat of the flames on my face! It had to be so hot for them who were on the stage..

The Day That Never Comes! SO FREAKING GOOD!

Bra greier, Elise.
