All stars could be brighter

The Devil Wears Prada. In the last 6 months I have listened to 600 songs by this band (according to my last.fm profile, which means you could probably add a couple houndred more to get the real number, because last.fm refuses to scrobble my ipod >_<). The last week I have listened to them 107 times, which means 15 songs every day.

I guess most people would say that The Devil Wears Prada plays metalcore. They have one guy, Mike Hrancia, who does lead vocals (screaming) and Jeremy Depoyster who plays the guitar and does clean vocals (what most people would call normal singing). But on their newest CD (With Roots Above And Branches Below), Jeremy has got a song all for himself. That is the song I posted above, it is a slower song (not metalcore). You should listen to it, it's a really good song..!

And in only three days (on Wednesday) these guys are playing at John Dee here in Oslo. I'm going there with Karoline, and I'm so excited, I can't wait!! They have such good music and lyrics, and some of the best breakdowns I think I've ever heard. They are a Christian metalcore band, and they are awesome! I actually kind of love them the same way I love Blindside. And there's not many bands I would say that about! Songs like Big Wiggly Style and Hey John, What's Your Name Again just makes me want to jump around like a crazy person. I love it! I've been counting down the days until Wednesday for a long time now, it's going to be perfect!

I will just add parts of some of my favorite lyrics by The Devil Wears Prada, so maybe you can understand a little more why I love them.

What should we ask for?
Who should we run to, if all we know is burning bridges?
Don't speak to me like I'm a stranger
Turn your thoughts to the roots
As we've all been caught up in the branches

Don't run if you don't know your walk

------------

Gasp for the truth you once lived
Beyond this world is what is always breathing
Beyond this world is worth dying for
I remember what you used to claim
You can't bury conviction with anything

Our message will grow,
no matter the mistakes made within construction!

-------------

Keep this on your mind,
keep it within your eyelids.
Don't climb for a lifetime only to fall short of infinity
Everything is left!
