I'm a nerd

Photobucket
I guess you all knew that already. But here's one thing I guess most of you didn't know: I collect coins. Big ones, small ones. Or I guess i should say money, not coins, because i think bills are cool too, with their pictures and colors. But collecting bills would get expensive, so I think I'll just keep collecting coins.

I would probably not pass as a real collector though. I never buy old coins or anything, I don't know anything about which coins are rare and actually worth something, and I keep my money in this cute little box with angels on it, and there is no.. system. But whenever I find old coins that we don't use anymore, or I go to a different country and have money left when I come home, I put the coins in this little box.

To me,the most interesting ones are the ones that are not in use anymore. I have French Franc, Italian Lire, and German Mark. I hate the fact that all of those aren't in use anymore because they all have the same currency. That is so boring! I hope Norway never ever start using stupid Euros! Having its own currency is part of what makes each country different to me, and I don't like the fact that the European Union wants to take that away from their members.

I have lots of Scandinavian coins. Instead of writing a lot about them, I'll just give you some random facts:

-I have two coins from Iceland (10 Krónur), and I have no idea where I got them from :D
-I have more Swedish coins than Norwegian ones (Not counting the ones in my wallet).
-..But more Norwegian ones than Danish ones.
-I really like the Danish ones because they are cute. They have little hearts on them and the font is cute.
-Both Norway and Denmark has got coins with holes in them.
-The oldest one I have is one from Norway, it's "50 øre" and from 1948.
-I also have 2 "1 øre" coins from 1966!
-I guess Norwegians like animals... The "1 øre" has a squirrel holding a nut on it, On the "10 øre"-coin from 1972 you can find a wasp, and "5 øre" from 1965 has a moose on it (We should start making coins with a picture of a moose on it again, I bet the german tourists would love that!)

Sorry about the image quality, blame crappy webcam quality. Or even better, blame the stupid postal service for not giving me my camera back yet!

God natt.
